Scrapper. Swindon Class 126 Trailer Sc59402 languishes at Falkland Yard (Down Side) adjacent to the beach. This is the corridor side, the compartments and lavatories were on the other side. Originally a Composite it was declassified to all Second and is shown as a TSL on the vehicle end, above the 'White Circle'. Withdrawn Swindon vehicles were stored here or at the former Co-op Coal Sidings to the south of Ayr station prior to component recovery, boarding up and onward rail transfer for scrap. Class 126 centre car SC59404 at Hunterston Ore Terminal as part of the SPS Ayrshire Wanderer railtour on 9 October 1982. The funds raised from the tour helped the group purchase this vehicle (and two others on the tour) for preservation. John Horne.
