Sc51036 in Kyle Street sidings (behind Ayr station) in August 1982. At this time the class had gone past their BR "sell by" date and almost all of the class lay out of use. 126 406 and 413 (behind) were both withdrawn and reinstated 8/82 and became the only two sets to survive past the end of the month, remaining in service until January of the following year. This tour was organised by the Swindon Preservation Society and used the same name as the previous year's BLS tour doing exactly what it said on the headboard. The class also remained in service for a bit longer than planned after the tour which had meant to see them being withdrawn from service the following day. Here we see the train at Benbane on the Waterside branch. The vehicles were 51036/59411/51017 + 51026/59404/51043. Alistair Ness.
