Class 114 DTCL E56040 in Derby station on 27 November 1981. The driver had the low sun in his eyes and misread the signal and set off, hitting an incoming Class 45 with Mk1s in tow. Not a great quality image but the content is of great interest showing a burnt out Class 113 DMCL. It is likely 51770 - a victim of a fire on board the 7.58am Skipton to Manchester train at Shoe Mill, Baxenden, on 12 March 1964 which moved to Doncaster Works for cutting. Michael Boot Collection.

The Way It Was. Swindon Inter-City 126 407 has unloaded passengers at Glasgow Central High Level Platform 11. It is starting to fill up again before the tail lamp has been repositioned. DMBSL Sc51037 will lead on what will probably be another working down to the Ayrshire coast. Probably circa 1980. alicia hartman.
