37285+Failed DMU B591 840609 Droitwich 1545 BNSt-Hereford 1 One afternoon whilst at New Street Station and not feeling to clever - Man Flu! - 37285 arrived dragging a Class 119 Gloucester RCW DMU B591 on a train from Hereford. Everyone expected it to be dragged off to Tyesley. But No - off it went back to Hereford but this time via Camp Hill so I took it home to Droitwich and a welcome couple of days in Bed! Here we see the combination after arrival at Droitwich 9th June 1984. Not quite straight but by the time I got down the front the driver looking back waiting for the tip and was about ready to move! W51354 + 59506 + 51396 comprise London area Pressed Steel class 117 set L417 (allocated to Reading) seen at Marchwood (Model Room platform) on 21 July 1979. The train was the RCTS/SEG "Marchwood Volunteer No 2" railtour from London Waterloo. Jeremy Chapter.
The Brannch Line Society "Fiddichburger No 2" railtour is seen at the GNSR platform at Elgin (Elgin East) on 27 August 1979 having shunted there e.c.s. during a break. The tour then departed to Burghead from this platform. The station building, and canopies are still in situ as business premises (in 2025), much restored. Jeremy Chapter.

Railtouring 1980s style. On 30 August 1981 the Branch Line Society "Ayrshire Wanderer" tour is seen at Stranraer Harbour. This was the second day of the trip under this name and ran from Ayr with a service train connection from Glasgow. Motor Brake Composite 51787 is nearest the camera, built at Swindon Works in 1959. Leamington Spa, 1992. An unusual combination of two Class 121 single units (with T014 (55034) at the rear, closest) and a Class 101/116 twin unit having arrived on a service from Birmingham. Bob Belcher.
