(d)  Frequency of Service.

It was agreed desirable to wait a little longer before deciding to increase the frequency of services on the Silloth and C.K. & P. branches, but meantime Mr.Gould will keep this matter under notice.

 (e)  Speed Restrictions.

Mr.King said he anticipated in regard to the Silloth Branch that the P.W. improvements could be completed by the end of March, and it was agreed that the new speed restrictions be introduced on all sections of the West Cumberland scheme by 11th April, to enable augmentation of the service for the summer season to be considered.

On the Silloth Branch it is not possible for the speeds to be increased for the first 5 miles from Carlisle, but it is hoped to raise the overall speed limit to 60 m.p.h. for the remainder of the Branch, subject to speed restrictions at stations.

(f)  Cleaning, Fuelling and Maintenance arrangements.

Workington. - Sketch has now been prepared and Mr.King has the matter in hand.

Carlisle - Mr.King will look further into the question of lighting.
