Noted that the Commission have now approved further expenditure estimated to total approximately £17 1/2 million for provision of additional multiple diesel unit cars in 1955/56/57.
Of these, the intention is for certain orders to be placed on the Trade for provision of 57 ft. vehicles in 1956 and 1957, and for the remaining units, costing approximately £6 millions, to be constructed at Derby, as under :-

Mr.Gould stated he is not yet in a position to report on the schemes now under consideration.
The Chairman said it is desirable that this scheme be given some measure of priority and it was agreed that it should follow the Birmingham Part 2 scheme.
