(f)  Speed Restrictions.

Mr.Elliott reported matter well in hand and anticipated new speed restrictions will be introduced on all sections by 11th April, 1955.

(g)  Frequency of Services.

Mr. Gould said it was desirable to wait until the new speed restrictions are in operation before faster and more frequent services are considered and he would keep in touch with Mr.Read regarding these and also Mr.Tonge in respect of publicity.

(h)  Parcels and Fish Traffic.

Mr.Gould said that two steam trains morning and evening are now working between Carlisle and Whitehaven as an experiment to ascertain what is actually required to cater for parcels and fish traffic.  After a trial period, decision will be made as to the best means of conveying this traffic.

(i)  Cleaning, Fuelling and Maintenance.

Workington.- Details now being developed for contract and estimates will be ready within a week.

Carlisle (Upperby).- Mr.Adkinson will submit scheme for deepening of pits.

Work in respect of lighting and heat modifications is in hand.
