Mr.Salmon said that an approach has been made by the B.I.F. authorities with a view to a 63'6" diesel unit being exhibited at the Fair, and Mr.Stanley will look into and contact Mr.Salmon.
In regard to a diesel service between New Street and Castle Bromwich during the period of the Fair, it was agreed that, in view of the oil emergency, such diesel service should not be operated for the 1957 Fair, the matter to be reconsidered if the present position in respect of oil supplies improves. The B.I.F. authorities to be advised.
Agreed that, in view of the oil emergency, and the uncertainty of units being available, no commitments be entered into in respect of a diesel service between Preston and Blackpool during the Fair.
