Scheme with L.T.O.(O). Draft timetable sent to D.T.M.'s whose comments and final proposals are awaited.
D.T.M. now working up detailed proposals. To be considered in conjunction with
Birmingham - Rugby - Peterborough services. (q.v.)
L.T.O.(O) awaiting definite proposals from D.T.M.'s. Considerations of use of Abbey St. instead of T.V. stations at Nuneaton to avoid expense of signalling work at latter holding up preparation of firm scheme.
Original proposals now being revised by D.T.M. to include full dieselisation with use of L.M. Region units. Financial aspect of closure of Mansfield M.P.D. to be included.
D.T.M. now working up detailed proposals. Revision of scheme to provide full dieselisation and E. Region agreement thereto will delay passage of scheme from D.T.M. to L.T.O.(O).
Substitution of diesel units for steam on three residual trains in each direction. Question of mens' workings still being resolved with E.Region.
D.T.M. has not yet been able to secure agreement of E.Region on certain points which will involve revision of presen proposals. Such revision also to provide for full dieselisation.
