Class 116 DMU at Birmingham Moor Street

Class 116 units TS507 and TS603 sit in Birmingham Moor Street on Wednesday 8 February 1984. Mel Holley.

1985

A Birmingham cross-city working with the normal driving cars, but with a Metro-Cammell class 111 trailer inserted (presumably 51136 + 59106 + 51149). 1985. Ian Docwra.

Class 116 DMU at West Ruislip

The Saturdays-only Paddington to Stratford-upon-Avon DMU, unusually formed of set TS603, 2 class 116 cars sandwiching a Met-Camm trailer (the vehicles are presumably M51136, M59106 and M51149), rather than the usual 6 cars. Taken from the platform at the south end of West Ruislip, date unknown. Someone has changed the destination board to Birmingham Moor Street possibly to ready it for work the following day. I doubt if this caused too much confusion at least until the train reached Leamington Spa! David Ive.

Class 116 DMU at Coventry

17th April 1987

M51136 at Coventry on 17/04/87. This 'special' was the Nuneaton-Coventry shuttle service, just before it officially became part of the timetable. Steve Jones.
