Cravens 51277 at Stockton on 10/4/77. Jerry Glover.
With the red tail light illuminated, rusty track in the foreground was marking the limit of travel at the single track terminus at the market town of Sudbury on April 26th 1980. A Cravens Class 105 two-car DMU formed of cars E51277 & E56125 was awaiting departure with the 16.69 mile return journey to Colchester, joining the Great Eastern main line en-route at Marks Tey. Sudbury was once on a through route to and from Cambridge, the line was closed West of Sudbury in March 1967. The station in this view has since closed, with a new station being opened in 1991. Martyn Hilbert.
The 12.38 Doncaster - Cambridge via the GN/GE joint line leaves March on 15th May 1982 formed of Cravens Class 105 set no. 53 E51277 + E56463. On the rear is Lincoln based Class 114 unit E50016 + E56018 which was in a hybrid livery of old and new refurbished paint schemes. E51277 was to last another three years being withdrawn in May 1985. Gerard Fletcher.
Cravens class 105 DMU at Cromer Beach 1974, with a 101 behind. The 105 is set 56, the DMBS is presumably 51277. David Faircloth.
An Ipswich to Lowestoft service approaching Brampton on the East Suffolk Line on 16 July 1976. The vehicles are E56307 (presumably with E51282) and E51277 + E56125. Phil Bevan.
The "Fakenham Flyer" railtour from Norwich on 21 April 1979. Closest is DTCL E56125, the coupled DMBS should be E51277. Jeremy Chapter.
The "Fakenham Flyer" railtour is seen at its destination on 21 April 1979 formed of two Norwich 2-car class 105 Cravens units, 56132, presumably with 51259, 51277 and 56125. Jeremy Chapter.
The Wymondham & Dereham Rail Action Committee (WyDRAC), the Railway Development Society (RDS) and the newly-formed Fakenham and Dereham Railway Society chartered two 2-car Class 105 DMU sets to operate the 'Fakenham Flyer' on 21/Apr/1979. It ran to Dereham before heading to Fakenham and then operating a shuttle service to Ryburgh, County School, North Elmham and back to Dereham and Fakenham. Seen at Norwich. The lead car was 56132, presumably with 51259, and 51277 + 56125. Note that there is no set number in the cab window - set number 62 appeared later in the day! Robert Chilton.
E56463 leads set 53 (presumably with E51277) on a Cambridge to Doncaster service at Guyhirne GN & GE on 23.01.82. Phil Bevan.
