Upminster Station on 4/6/70 with a 1927 built LT Q stock car next to a three-car Rolls-Royce powered Met-Camm unit (later Class 111). The closest vehicle is in green livery with revised lining, the centre car is in plain blue. Of the four sets allocated to Stratford only one was a batch three set with the four-character headcode, so the DMBS closest is presumably 51541. David Christie.
Metro-Cammell Local Passenger 3-car dmu Class "111" Nos.E51541 (Class 111/2), E59569 (Class 164), E51551 (Class 111/1) of the 1959/60 batch with roof mounted 4-character headcode panel, in Rail Blue livery with all yellow front end at Leeds ready to depart on a York via Harrogate service, 03/76. Hugh Llewelyn.
A fine array of DMUs in Leeds City station in March 1976. Two Class 111s (51541 on the right) have a 104 and another Met-Camm between them. A curious item is on the left - the toilet end of a Met-Camm in white/blue stripe livery - but it seems to be a large model sitting on the platform? Hugh Llewelyn.
