A two-car Derby Lightweight (later Class 108) led by M56484 is seen at Withington (south of Manchester) on April 4, 1964. Michael Mensing.
A (later) Derby Lightweight (M56484, set LT330) and a Cravens set sit in New Mills Central Station Derbyshire in August 1969. This photo looking northwest towards Manchester was taken from the classic GCR latticed footbridge. The station was the junction for the Midland Railway line to New Mills from Millers Dale via Chinley and the Hope Valley line to Sheffield. I had travelled on the soon-to-be-closed branch line to Hayfield & was now waiting for my connection back to Sheffield. By this time the Midland line beyond Millers Dale to Derby was closed. The dmu in the Down platform seemed to be stabled there for quite a while before heading back to Manchester Piccadilly. Pete LG99.
A (later) Derby Lightweight (M56484, set LT330) and a Cravens set (in plain blue livery with small yellow panel) sit in New Mills Central Station Derbyshire in August 1969. Taken from the Up platform waiting room that has since been demolished. Pete LG99.
M56484 paired with a GRC&W DMBS as set LT330 in the seen on be closed Hayfield station in August 1969. Pete LG99.

Strathclyde liveried Metro-Cammell Class 101 DMU CH641 and a Derby built Class 108 LO272 (presumably 54484) seen at Llandudno Station on the 30th June 1990. Andrew J Crowther.
Derby Class 108 unit M51914 and M56484 on Allerton Depot, 7th June 1981. Note the left alignment of the BR logo. The Allerton power-trailer sets such as this typically carried the BR logo, its power twins the Merseyside PTE logo. Paul James.
Carrying a tiny '272' set number, Chester based M53938 + M54484 departs from Liverpool Lime Street on May 13, 1988. John Carter.
The two differing cab designs of Derby class 108 units face to face - 54262 on the right multied up with 54484 on the left at Manchester Victoria on 27/Jul/1991. Note the unorthodox station name scrawled on the slightly unfortunately placed lamp post! Robert Chilton.
The old and the new: Longsight's set LO272 formed 53938 - 54484 standing next to 150 216 and 150 222 in multiple at Manchester Victoria in scorching sun on 27/Jul/1991. Robert Chilton.
