A BRC&W triple set seen north of Tean Halt in Staffordshire (which had closed in 1953) with the 12.35pm Stoke-on-Trent - Cheadle service on 19 August 1961. The centre car is M59165, the DMBS number ends in 7, so is likely original partner M50457. Michael Mensing.
A rare visitor to South Wales, this Derby-based Class 104 unit (M50498 + M59165 + M50446) with what appeared to be an empty stock working though Newport on 29th June 1972. It had previously worked a Derby – Cardiff special. Note the EP490 (Etches Park) set number in the cab window. Jim Sparks.
The RCTS Reunion railtour in Kettering and Corby station on 22 November 1975. The headocde 1L01 is in the centre cab window and the tour headboard can just be seen inside the left cab window. The Six Bells Junction website lists the Class 101 as 50325 + 59118 + 50307, and out of sight is a Class 104 listed as 50498 + 59165 + 50446. Stuart Mackay Collection.
A blurry image, but added as a rare shot of a BRCW Class 104 (M50498 + M59165 + M50446) at Reading, taken on 17/12/75. The vehicles were allocated to Tyseley at the time. Bob Gregory.
