On 31/08/1975, a Class 101 formation (visible being 56398 + 51219 / 56072 + 50217 / 50182) is seen at Shildon forming a shuttle between there and Darlington. The occasion was the 150th Anniversary of the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. There was a procession of steam and diesel locomotives running from Shildon Works yard to Aycliffe and on to Darlington.
