Class 115 T404 (51853 presumably closest) is seen leaving Langley Green with Birmingham on the blinds. Undated. Tom Clift.
Vehicle: 50915 Set: L243
A very nice mixture - a parcels 116, GUV and 128. Ian believes that this was L243 or 343 (which may have been 50915 with an unrecorded 128 - 91 or 92). The GUV is one of the blue square conversions, note the gap between "Rail" and "Express Parcels" where "Air" used to be! Taken at Langley in 1976. Ian McDonald.
Vehicle: 51071 Set: T327

A class 122/116 combination (55004 is the 122) approaches Langley Green with a Birmingham New Street to Kidderminster service on 20/9/1985. In the foreground is the branch to Oldbury used mainly for chlorine traffic. The station here was once known as Oldbury & Langley Green. Stephen Burdett.

Vehicle: 55008 Set: TY059
Class 122 GRC&W bubble car M55008 at Langley Green station circa 1971, probably working between here and Birmingham Snow Hill. The set number in the cab window seems to read TY059. Note that "Oldbury &" is no longer picked out in white on the signal box name. Graham Clark.
Vehicle: 50884 Set: TS530
Refurbished Class 116 set TS530 (50884 and presumably 59339 + 50831) heads away from Langley Green station in late May 1977. Michael Mensing.
Vehicle: 55010 Set: TY055
I think my father was photographing these services in conjunction with the closure of Birmingham Snow Hill. In this one a Tyseley single car DMU TY055 (presumably 55010) is seen waiting to depart Langley Green on the 17.19 service to Snow Hill. Date is 3rd March 1972. The KDH Archive.

Vehicle: 51095 Set: L574
The 1114 Maidenhead - Paddington stopping service rolls into Langley Station formed of yet another hybrid DMU. This is a a pair of GRCW Class 119 driving vehicles coupled with a Met-Cam Class 101 centre trailer all running as Reading Set L574. The formation being W51095+W59530+W51056 .... It is interesting to note that the leading vehicle W51095 was running with set L581 until August last year, giving a reason for the misplaced set No on the front end ...... 17th February 1988. Nigel Mack.
A mish-mash DMU (a 116 with probably a 127 TS) is seen between Langley Green and Smethwick West in the Black Country in October 1986 while working a Stourbridge Junction to Birmingham New Street service. There was, and still is, a 15 minute service frequency on this line so any number of pictures could be taken in a variety of locations. I particularly liked this area because of the industrial backdrop. Peter Tandy.
Set: T524
In 1986 the line from Smethwick West to Rowley Regis was still controlled by semaphore signals. This picture taken at Langley Green on 1 March 1986 shows Tyseley class 116 T524 passing the platform-based signal box and lower quadrant bracket signal as it towards Birmingham New Street from Kidderminster. The low speed arm of the signal controlled access to Rood Ends Goods Yard which served several industrial sites with daily trips from Bescot. Peter Tandy.
Vehicle: 53110 Set: TS516
This picture taken a few minutes after https://railcar.co.uk/images/21316 on 1 March 1986 is of class 116 TS516 (presumably 53110 + 59595 ( a 127) + 53074) on a Birmingham to Kidderminster train passing the untidy area around the back of Langley Green signal box. The branch to Albright and Wilson's chemical works is prominent to the left of the picture. Peter Tandy.
