The Manchester Central-London St Pancras 'Midland Pullman' passes the south end of Gowhole yard at 08.10hrs during June 1962, having stopped at Cheadle Heath some 15 minutes ago it's next stop will be the capital. Andrew J Crowther.

Mr Minifie had been presented with an engraved silver ashtray noting that he was the 100,000th passenger on the "Midland Pullman" between Manchester and London, while the chef has a birthday cake to celebrate the train's second anniversary on 4th July 1962. On 13.3.65 there was a rugby match between Warwickshire and Durham at Hartlepool which brought two special trains of supporters. One was hauled by Britannia 70020 Mercury and the other was a Midland Pullman set. The latter is seen in this view, along with another Met-Camm product. John Siddle.
