101679 (51533 + 51224) with an evening Leamington Spa to Stratford-upon-Avon train at Budbrooke on 13 May 1992. In the background are the Round Tower of Warwick Castle and the tower of St Mary's church, Warwick. This view has become so overgrown that a shot here from the field path is no longer possible; a great shame as this was just about the best location for an evening northbound train of the GWR Leamington Spa to Birmingham line. Tyseley class 116/101 hybrid unit T032 formed of 53242 + 53073 was working a Birmingham New Street to Lincoln service when I photographed it at Whitacre Junction on 17 May 1992. Waiting for a path from the loop with a loaded Croft Quarry to Bescot ballast train were 31512 + 31158 along with 2 pieces of OTP which had come from the Bescot direction, crossed over and entered the loop prior to going back from whence they had come when another path was available. Longsight allocated Metro-Cammell DMU set 101657 (54085 + 53211) is seen at Rhosgoch heading down the freight only Amlwch branch on the Isle of Anglesey. The short spur leading off to the right which can just be seen through the bushes served a oil storage depot built in the 70's but its use was short lived. This train was run by the "Isle of Anglesey Railways Ltd" Lein Amlwch 125 Years on. 3rd June 1992. Andrew J Crowther.
