Two ex-works Met-Camm vehicles at Newcastle on 26 August 1964 probably en-route to South Gosforth. What is curious is that the DMCL kept the original lining while the DTCL has the revised lining. At some point there must have been a change over between the two. Could E50138 have been the last to be repainted with the original style, and the other the first with the revised style? Tony Lambert.

Two mixed-livery Class 101s pass through Princes Street Gardens after leaving Edinburgh Waverley with a Dundee service on 22 August 1980. Set 197 leads, probably SC50141 at the front. Its centre car is one of the Met-Camm buffets. Taken by HC Casserley. Stuart Mackay Collection.

Poor availability of Class 143 Pacers due to failures of their gearboxes, led to a large influx of First Generation DMUs to Heaton depot, Newcastle, particularly from Autumn 1987, to maintain local services in the north-east. A number of Class 101s came from Scotland, and that is clearly the case for the rear car SC53141 in this view of a service passing South Bank, Cleveland, heading east towards Saltburn, on Friday 29/04/1988. Graeme Phillips Collection.
Sc53141 (still carrying it's last ScR set number) + 53214 at Appleby on November 3rd, 1988. John Carter.
