A Nottingham bound 4-car diesel multiple unit (a Met-Camm and probably a Class 114) arrives at Beeston west of Nottingham on the Derby line on 4th June 1989. Beeston station was opened in 1839 by the Midland Counties Railway, which shortly joined the North Midland Railway and the Birmingham and Derby Junction Railway to form the Midland Railway. The original building was replaced by this one in 1847 (see plaque on wall above awning). Unfortunately today the concrete footbridge partly blocks the view. Pete LG99.
