I went to Ely on 19 October 1991, partly to photograph "Taw Valley" and "Flying Scotsman" on specials and partly to record the semaphores that would soon be disappearing. An additional image included a couple of Class 101 2-car sets at Ely. The set on the left is 101655 (formed 54062/51428), but I didn't record the set on the right. It looks like the set number is L221, which I think at this time was 51208/54402. Lewis Bevan.

A 2 car Class 101 sits in the depot at Hereford. DMBS 51209 is closest recently transferred to Tyseley, and still carries the Tyne & Wear PTE symbol from its time at Heaton some years before, and its Norwich set number. Photo taken sometime between 18th & 21st May 1988. Paul James.

This refurbished two-car DMU, with car no. 51210 leading, was pictured at Doncaster in December 1982. Evidently very fresh from a works visit, it sports a Bridlington destination blind. It was released from the Works after refurbishment on the 17th of that month. Andrew Walker.
