A dmu arrives at Buxton from Manchester in February 1970 on the LNWR route via Stockport Edgeley & Chapel-en-le-Frith. The white roof was a Buxton depot trademark. The tracks in the foreground led from the station to a junction on the line to Ashbourne by this time cut back to limestone quarries south of Buxton.
