A four-car Class 104 DMU decorated for some school specials / publicise the Scarborough line. The style was from the Ken Dodd show - he was in Scarborough for the season and made an appearance on the trains. Taken in Hull Paragon in June 1970. Note the frame fitted the lamp brackets. Allan Dawson.

A 4-car class 104 approaching Woodlesford station heading towards Leeds circa 1970. The vehicle numbers appear to have been covered up by the flowery decorations. The Cravens class 105 page refers to a two-car Cravens and a 3-car Birmingham that were decorated in this way to publicise a Ken Dodd show that was on at Scarborough during the summer 1970 season. There was clearly a 4-car Birmingham class 104 that was similarly adorned. Les Plumb.

This negative was dated as 1971, but may be earlier. It shows a DMU formation arriving at Sheffield Midland 1971 with several crew members in the cab. It's a four-car and two-car, a 104/104/101/101 and a 105/101. The 105 has an ER style yellow panel - the reason it may be dated earlier. Stuart Mackay Collection.

This railtour at Kensington Olympia circa 1971 seems to be the 'Boomerang No.1' on 13/11/71 which is listed on Six Bells Junction as E50568 + E59210 + E50564. John Law.
