Last Day No.4. Cravens 105 373 triple takes the ‘Down Branch’ at Cart Junction on the returning 10:01 Kilmacolm - Glasgow Central service under darkening skies. An old notebook suggests this was DMBS E50384 + DMBS E51301 + DTSL E56464 (nearest camera). Reduced to a single lead, Cart Junction once served routes to Kilbarchan, Kilmacolm, Elderslie and Johnstone. The houses in the background are the outskirts of Linwood. Last Day No.2. Ghost-like Cravens triple 105 373 approaches Cart Junction on 09:07 Glasgow Central - Kilmacolm service. The DMU is on the 'Up Branch' from Elderslie No. 2 via the fly-under junction. The rising gradient is the 'Down Branch' to Glasgow which trails in at Elderslie No. 2 on the flat. The Canal lines were then accessed at Elderslie No.1 and what was Canal Junction. An old notebook suggests this was DMBS E50384 + DMBS E51301 + DTSL E56464 (nearest to camera). A Ford Capri is turning onto the parallel Main Street (A761) which rises to cross over the railway on the skew at the station. Saturday 08 January 1983. alicia hartman.

Last Day No.17. Cravens 105 373 crosses the viaduct over the River Gryffe at Bridge of Weir. It is heading east towards the station on the 14:01 Kilmacolm - Glasgow Central service. An old notebook suggests this was DMBS E50384 (nearest) + DMBS E51301 + DTSL E56464. The girder bridge crosses a minor road to the then children's home at Quarriers Village. There was a tannery on the other side of the viaduct which is long gone. However, leather manufacture still exists in Bridge of Weir at a modern facility on the other side of town by the Locher Water. Saturday 08 January 1983. alicia hartman.

Last Day No.12. Looking east and Cravens 105 373 has deposited some passengers, perhaps more so than usual, at Houston and Crosslee station. It is pulling away for the mainline at Elderslie on the 12:01 Kilmacolm - Glasgow Central service. The double fence to the left was a footpath connecting nearby Brookfield and the station via a footbridge, from which the photograph was taken. Saturday 08 January 1983 alicia hartman.
