The GNoSR footbridge has boards listing the destinations from the platform, the left side reads "Platform 2 for Elgin, Lossiemouth Inverness and the North". The DMU is in platform 1 and is likely on a service bound for Aberdeen. A third platform off to the left was for the Speyside branch, for several years operated by diesel railbuses to Aviemore. Stuart Mackay Collection.

The van is occupying the bay platform used by former LNWR trains from Leighton Buzzard, which had last run in 1962. Kevin Lane Collection.
