Network South-East held an open day at Colchester Depot on the May Day Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd May 1988. Norwich Crown Point's Cravens Set 53359 + 54122 was diagrammed all day on the Colchester to Sudbury Branch, and is seen here at Colchester Station about to set off for another run down the branch. This Cravens (54122 + 53359) unit achieved 'star' status in the late 80's when it was re-liveried into early BR Green and attended a number of special events. Seen at Bedford on 28th May 1988 the unit had worked over the Bedford Bletchley branch in connection with the Bedford River Festival and adjacent Railway Gala at Bedford which had attracted Deltics, NSE units and many other one-off's.
