Accrington station, originally built by the East Lancashire Railway in 1848, but little of it remained by the time this was taken in 04/76. A Cravens Local Passenger Class 105 "power twin" 2-car dmu (note the grey covering over the route indicator) is seen arriving on a Preston - Blackburn - Colne service. Hugh Llewelyn.

The crossing keeper at Lidlington closes his gates as a departing 2-car Cravens DMU rapidly disappears towards Bletchley. Half barriers were later installed and a new platform for Bletchley-bound trains on the other side of the crossing. 15 April 1976. Kevin Lane.

A Class 105 DMU at Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, on 15/06/1976, with the 14:16 Hitchin - Huntingdon which arrived at 14:57. Although this is the East Coast Main Line, many semaphore signals are still in evidence. The station is largely unreconstructed at this time - work took place gradually from the mid-1970s until 1988.
