A pair of Cravens 2-car units pass at Harpenden East in 1964. Looking at a timetable of the period, these are possibly the 6.25pm Welwyn Garden City to Dunstable and the 6.28pm Luton Bute Street to WGC which crossed at 6.40/6.41pm. The last passenger train between Hull and Hornsea ran on 19th October 1964. A Cravens 2-car set waits at a tired looking Dunstable North station before returning to Hatfield on Monday 29 March 1965, just under a month before passenger services ceased. This would be the 3.07pm departure, the first train since 8.45am. No wonder the line closed!
