In blue/grey livery, Cravens Class 105 Driving Motor Brake Second (DMBS) SC51481, was passing through North Queensferry with a six-car mixed rake of DMU cars, bound for Edinburgh on July 23rd 1981. The Cravens is formed into Haymarket set 105376, the other vehicles being Metro-Cammell Class 101 cars. Presumably, the Cravens had been finished in blue/grey to match the rest of the three-car set. SC51481 spent its entire working life in Scotland, it was one of a batch of twenty-two x 2 car Power/Trailer sets supplied new in 1959. It would eventually be withdrawn from service in November 1981 and was scrapped by Mayer Newman at Snailwell, Cambridgeshire in 1982. Martyn Hilbert.

A hybrid set formed of two Class 105 DMBSs and a Class 101 DTCL passes through Princes Street Gardens on 22 May 1976. The power cars were SC51483 and SC51475, the trailer was not recorded. Phil Bevan.

The 'Strathmore Berry Picker' railtour at Forfar on the 25th July 1981. Set 378 comprised two Class 105 DMBS vehicles in blue/grey, 51483 closest the other is presumably 51479. It has an unknown Met-Camm centre car, and bubble car 55011 on the rear. Mike Cooper.
Cravens DMBS SC51484 in an early version of Rail Blue livery with a yellow panel, circa 1967. It is paired with original partner SC56473, still in green, with which it ran until at least 1973. On the right is Met-Camm DTCL SC56383, in another early version of Rail Blue livery, with yellow cab doors. Location unknown, all three vehicles were allocated to Hamilton depot at the time. Withdrawn Class 105 DMBS Sc51486 on Newton Heath depot on 1 December 1979. Transferred from the ScR to South Gosforth in April 1977 it was placed in store soon after and withdrawn in April 1978. It apparently went to Tyseley for component recovery and to Newton Heath for bogie removal. It would move on scrap bogies for scrapping at Snailwell. Brian Daniels.

Class 105 DMBS E51489 was withdrawn from Heaton in December 1981 and spent another 9 years stored there before being moved to Snailwell scrapyard where it is seen on 25th September 1990. Nicholas Youngman.

An unusual visitor departing Gloucester on 19th September 1978 is Tyseley set TS416 formed of two Cravens DMBSs and a BRC&W centre car (51490 + 59193 + 51283). The leading vehicle still carries its former ScR set number 173. Paul James.
