On 22nd May 1982, the 12.40 Doncaster - Cambridge dmu is formed of Cravens Class 105 set no. 37, E50370 + E56457 which had been transferred from Stratford to Norwich three months earlier. It didn't last much longer and was withdrawn in October 1983. There was always an air of desolation about the joint line platforms at weekends without the passage of freights in and out of Whitemoor. Date unknown, but between the introduction of set numbers at Norwich in 1971 and the end of the use of headcodes in 1976. Closest is almost certainly the regular DMBS in set 31 at the time, E50371. Class 105 E50373 coupled to a Met-Camm in Edinburgh Waverley on 16 June 1978. This was one of the regular schools excursions which used to come up from the North East at this time in the run up to the summer holidays. Most like this one terminated at Edinburgh but some went on to Stirling or over to Fife in order to take the kids across the Forth Rail Bridge. Alistair Ness.

This Cravens unit, nos. E53373 and E53364, has just passed Ravensthorpe to the west of Dewsbury and is heading towards Heaton Lodge at Mirfield East Junction on 21st April 1987. The unit is carrying the words 'Express Parcels' on each car. Andrew Walker.
