107 027 at Dundee (Tay Bridge) on 30/3/91, it has just arrived as the 15.35 ex Carnoustie. The set has lost its centre car and looks very run down. The hourly Dundee-Arbroath local service had been reduced to Dundee-Carnoustie by this time and was soon to be withdrawn altogether. This left the stations between Dundee and Carnoustie with a very limited service, although there have been some improvements in recent years. Kenneth Leiper.
A Class 107 DMU in Edinburgh Waverly on 4 February 1978, it has presumably arrived from Glasgow Central via Shotts. The set number in the cab window seems to read 141 with the vehicle believed to be 52021. Rob Paterson.
For many years it was common for Glasgow Works to despatch overhauled DMU vehicles to Edinburgh in the consist of the daily parcels train from nearby Sighthill parcels depot. On 27th December 1980 there seems to have been a mistake and one of Hamilton depot’s class 107 sets (59782 + 52021 visible) arrived. I can only assume that 40161 was being used to return it to the correct destination, seen leaving Haymarket station. Possibly one of the last workings for 40161 as it was withdrawn 2 days later. Sc52021 leads the 16:58 Glasgow Central to Largs & Ardrossan Harbour service through Lochside station on Friday 17th June 1983. The train is composed of two three car sets which will divide at Ardrossan South Beach. The leading set is composed entirely of Derby Class 107 cars and will continue on to Largs. The trailing unit is also composed of Derby Class 107 cars sandwiching a Metropolitan Cammell Class 101 trailer. This unit will terminate at Ardrossan Harbour where it will provide a connection into the Caledonian MacBrayne sailing to Brodick. Brian McDevitt.

The closest vehicle is DMSL 52021, it has the digits 107 under the drivers window and the set number 432 in another cab window. The rear set has a Met-Camm centre car. Lewis Bevan.

A 107/116 hybrid is the front set in this Glasgow bound formation at Paisley Gilmour Street in August 1982. SC52022 is at the front, it was withdrawn in 1983, a good 7-8 years before mass withdrawal of the class started. Andrew McConnell.
