In the depths of Waverley station, at around 17.55 on a late March afternoon, 51986 leads 107 726 into the old platform 1 (now number 2), to form the 17.57 to Dunbar. The date is 31/3/90 and the set is passing 43055 at the head of the much-delayed 17.30 to KX at platform 19. The other cars in the set will presumably be 59803 and 52018. The area over which the DMU is passing is nowadays occupied by the modern platforms 20 and 1. Leonard Rogers.

The 1981 BLS Scottish Tour was the Ayrshire Wanderer which ran in two parts. The Saturday tour (on 29 August) started and finished at Glasgow Central and here we are reflecting on the tour at the last stop of the day at Hunterston Ore Terminal. Alistair Ness.
The Branch Line Society "Ayrshire Wanderer" railtour at Ardrossan Harbour station on August 29, 1981. This used to be considered "rare track" as trains only ran here in connection with ferry sailings.
