The warmth of the signalbox at Stratford-upon-Avon was welcome on Friday 26 October 1985 and this picture was taken from the window as 6 coach 108 (52058 + 59388 + 51943) + 104 DMU (53429 + 59195 + 53507) shunted from platform 1 to the Cold Store Siding alongside platform 3 where it spent the rest of the day before returning after dark to Manchester Piccadilly. A Class 108 DMU in Wigan Wallgate station circa spring 1986. The DMBS closest seems to be 53629 judging by the remnants of the vehicle number written on the front. It was a Newton Heath vehicle until the May timetable change that year when it moved to Tyseley. Brian Ward.
