Quite a bit of mail has come of S959 (presumably 53633 + 53947) at Llandeilo, taken circa late 1980s. Stephen Williams.

The buildings on The Strand (A379) form a backdrop to a Class 108 DMU formed of cars 53633 & 53947, departing from Starcross with the 06.58 Paignton to Exmouth service on May 26th 1992. Above the rear car is the 'Atomospheric Railway Inn', a reminder that this stretch of railway was part of Brunels atmospheric system that was in operation between 1847-1849. Martyn Hilbert.

Class 108 DMU set CH380 (53634 and presumably 51947) arrives into Manchester Piccadilly. The slide process date was June 1989. A recent transfer from Buxton (where it was BX380) to Chester, it still retains the Spa Line sticker and (very dirty) Buxton white roof, but the black mask it had around the cab windows is gone. 8th August 1982
On 8 August 1982 three extraordinary trains ran from Skipton to Embsay on the Yorkshire Dales Railway. This was possible because the main line track was slewed to connect on this day. The stock used comprised Derby-built class 108 DMU cars 50599 and 50635, both new in 1958. The headboard (and the ticket) named the trips as "Yorkham's Flying Banger", they were sponsored by Yorkham's of Blubberhouses in connection with a "real food" festival at Embsay. Jeremy Chapter.

E50636 + E59384 + E50626 at March on 15th May 1982 with the 13.55 Cambridge - Doncaster. There certainly seem to be plenty of passengers, though whether they are boarding or disembarking is unclear. E50636 had had the two character heacode panel plated over, this was a short term fix and at the next major overhaul it would be rebuilt with a flush front. Gerard Fletcher.
