The closest vehicle is in green livery with revised lining, the centre car is in plain blue. Of the four sets allocated to Stratford only one was a batch three set with the four-character headcode, so the DMBS closest is presumably 51541. David Christie.

DMU at Stratford (Low Level) on November 27, 1970. The autumn early afternoon sun lights up the clouds of exhaust from the two power cars as a 3-car diesel set leaves the Low Level platforms at Stratford for North Woolwich. Closest is Class 111 DMCL E51551, it would be transferred from Stratford to Neville Hill very soon after. It is working with two Class 104 vehicles, a TBSL and DMCL. Tom Burnham.
