A Neville Hill based Class 111 unit calls at Carnforth en route from Leeds to Morecambe. This train will reverse at Lancaster. Honley, West Yorkshire 30th December 1982. On a grey mid-winter day, Honley station, opened in 1850 on the ex-Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway line from Huddersfield to Penistone, plays host to two first generation diesel multiple units. Ours is heading for Clayton West station on the branch from Shepley Junction while the Down line train is Huddersfield-bound. Pete LG99.

May 1983 - and the final Huddersfield to Sheffield dmu to run via Victoria station and Nunnery Junction pulls into Penistone station. After this the service will run via Barnsley thus avoiding the time-consuming reversal at Nunnery. Andrew Walker.
