An unusual event for the Stourbridge Town branch in May 1988 when a single car unit was not available and a 2 car hybrid set from Tyseley was brought into action. It is seen arriving into Stourbridge Junction, a Class 114 DTC labeled T023 leading, it seems the other is a high density vehicle. Stephen Burdett.

A Class 114 set led by 53038, carrying Tyseley set number T021 (and presumably with 54042), branded "Red Star" and displaying "Bingham" in the destination blind passes the remains of Burton Latimer & Isham station with an up service. The up slow has already been lifted and the last remains of the down slow are being dealt with. A quarter of a century later, a third track was re-instated. Mike Dean.

On 14 May 1988 it was quite easy to walk around the slightly derelict-looking Washwood Heath area and take pictures of anything that came along. One of the bagful of slides I shot during the morning was this of a class 114 DMU as it worked ECS from Tyseley and about to pass Washwood Heath No5 signalbox. Peter Tandy.
