Set: T234

Class 114 vehicles 53044 + 54043 were reallocated from Lincoln to Tyseley (their first move since new) at the start of October 1987 becoming set T234. Here the set is seen a few weeks later on 17 November in Bristol Temple Meads and was noted as ready to work the 12:53 to Severn Beach. Stuart Mackay Collection.

On Sunday 29th November 1987 Lincoln Based Class 114 Diesel Parcels units (closest are probably 53024 (oval buffers) + 54033) are seen departing from Ipswich Station. Why? We had no duties for Parcels Units from Lincoln into Ipswich and certainly no Parcels units diagrammed to visit Ipswich on a Sunday. AndrewHA.

Class 114 53027 is seen at Tyseley carriage sidings on 26.12.1987, presumably with 54041. Carrying set number T022, the Tyseley set numbers beginning with '0' were at this time were for the Parcels units. It had been transferred here from Cambridge that month. Andy Cole.

This Class 114 appears to be set TS226 with 54047 closest, seen at Aberystwyth date unknown. Mike Bunker.

Two car class 114 T226 (54010 + 53018) is leaving the Stratford-upon-Avon branch at Hatton in 1988 just before making its stop for any passengers and then crossing to the up main line for the rest of the journey to Warwick and Leamington Spa. As with everywhere on the network this location has suffered from largely unchecked vegetation growth and there isn't a clear shot here in 2022. Peter Tandy.

A busy moment at Leamington Spa in 1988. The through platform lines are occupied by DMUs of Class 117 (heritage GWR liveried unit T305 51410 + 59520 + 51368 on the left) and Class 114 (set T227 with 53019 visible), whilst an unidentified class 58 passes through the centre road with a loaded MGR coal train destined for Didcot power station. Mainly associated with Lincolnshire, some of the Derby built heavyweight units were subsequently moved away. Inevitably in its quest for non-standardisation, Tyseley received some. Here, trailer 54027 leads a Corby service into Kettering on 7/1/88. The car park to the right was the site of the steam shed. Mike Dean.
