A London Midland Region publicity image (negative DL1913) showing the interior of Willesden depot on 29/4/65. Amongst the Type 2s (D5030 and either D5080 or D5088 and another unknown) and Type 4s (D311 and D337) is a single Albion powered suburban DMBS (Class 115). British Railways.

With a good head of steam and safety valves lifting, LMS Stanier 'Black Five' 4-6-0 44765 (Crewe/1947) heads south out of Aylesbury with the 08:15 semi-fast train from Nottingham to Marylebone on 3 July 1965. On the right are the stabling sidings for the Aylesbury - Marylebone commuter DMUs which include M51872. John Cosford.

A Derby Works suburban quad DMU set for Aylesbury Town leaving South Aylesbury Halt on 31st May 1966. The station (which closed in June 1967) was on the GW & Great Central Joint line from Princes Risborough to Aylesbury. The line here was originally built to broad gauge and was one of the first to be converted to standard. Bryan Jeyes.

Set: AN610

One of the six Allerton allocated Derby 1960 built class 115 high density dmu's (the set number seems to read AN610) is captured arriving into the 9 platformed Manchester Central station, which was built by the Cheshire Lines Committiee, opening on the 1st July 1880 and closing on 5th May 1969. It has since been converted into an exhibition and conference centre, opening as G-MEX in 1986 and now renamed Manchester Central again. Andrew J Crowther.
