A Class 116 (thought to be 116396) and Class 303 at Milngavie Nov 1981. The power was off one Sunday so DMUs were working the Milngavie branch. It was unusual to see these here alongside the (now not so) Blue Trains. Alistair Ness.

By September 1994 any diesel-mechanical unit from the first generation classes were quite unusual on the main line so I was to take a good sunny shot of Tyseley's 117332 passing Catholme, near Wychnor Junction, on the 17th of that month. The depot was really scratching about for serviceable units by this time and the vehicles are believed to be 53116 attached to 53055 + 51144 (all 116s despite the set number). This was an ECS move which was probably on its way to Tyseley from Derby after some attention not possible at the Birmingham facility. Peter Tandy.
Class 116 DMS 53116, set number 117332, is seen near the end of first generation use at Tyseley on 26.12.1994. At this time Tyseley were just banging any serviceable DMU's together to make scratch sets. Andy Cole.
BR (Derby) Suburban 3-car dmu (later Class 116) Nos.W50094 (116/1), W59020 (175), W50074 (116/2) in BR green with small yellow warning panel entering Birmingham (Snow Hill) station, 04/67. The set number in the cab window is possibly 124. Note the Met-Camm on the left. Hugh Llewelyn.
Instamatic Interludes. Derby Suburban DMBS sits quietly at Kilmacolm, waiting to form the 16:03 service to Glasgow Central. No passengers visible, perhaps a portent of the ill winds to come. However, passengers weren’t likely to take a train into town at this time as there were no return services from Glasgow beyond early evening. Nearest is DMBS Sc50090 which looks to be reasonably fresh out of works and doesn’t seem to have a destination blind fitted. Despite displaying Set 128, the other vehicles are 107 TS Sc59805 (all blue) and 107 DMS Sc52017. Saturday 04 August 1979. alicia hartman.

Class 116 DMU about to brake for the stop at Crookston station, Saturday 27 September 1980. Set 141 is forming the 15.03 Kilmacolm to Glasgow service. The mixed livery suggests that this unit may be assembled from different sets. Note driver and 'secondman' in the cab. alicia hartman.
A DMU formation departs from Glasgow Central circa mid-1970s. Largs (or some of Largs as the blind seems to be ripped) is the destination shown, but it could be an ECS as there are no signs of passengers. Or, as there are at least seven cars, maybe the passengers got on at the rear. Leading are two-thirds of Class 116 set 152 - SC50821 closest, followed by a Class 122, a three-car Class 107, then another cab front can be seen of an unknown type.
