Set P317 - A 3-Car Class 116 DMU with W50911 leading, presumably with 59492 + 50858, awaits departure from the single remaining operational platform at Exmouth with a service to Exeter St Davids on the 22nd July 1979. The unit was in the short-lived refurbished white with a blue stripe livery. The station had recently been rationalised, the redundant island platform with its Southern Railway canopy is on the left of this scene. A far cry from the busy Summer Saturdays of old, when trains to and from London Waterloo and the North served the East Devon seaside town. Martyn Hilbert.
Under blue skies, redundant railway land and a boarded-up signalbox greet a refurbished Class 116 three-car DMU (P317 - 50858, 59492, 50911), as it was arriving at the East Devon seaside resort of Exmouth with a service from Exeter St Davids on July 22nd 1979. A far-cry from the days when on a Summer Saturday the terminus here handled through services to London Waterloo and the North. Martyn Hilbert.

The Looe branch train at Liskeard on 2nd January 1975, formed of Derby set P322 (possibly 50132 closest?). The dmu is standing in the Looe platform that is located on the north side of the station at right-angles to the GWR main line beyond. Just noticed the brake van in the siding on the far left. The line runs north for a short distance before swinging sharply to the east & passing beneath the main line continuing round to head north again to Coombe Junction & reversal down to Looe.
