Stourport-on-Severn station on 5 April 1969. Train is the 13.45 to Kidderminster via Bewdley (reverse), formed of set TY538, presumably M51131 + 59441 + 51144. The lower ground on the left was the site of sidings leading down to a canal basin. The scene is now completely changed, with a housing estate where the railway used to be. Even St Michael's Church on the right was partly demolished in about 1980; it was begun to 1881 by George Gilbert Scott and was unfinished when it was consecrated in 1910. A rainy evening (13th October 1974) in the gloom of New Street station as Tyseley Class 116 set TY542 (presumably with 50890 closest) - prepares to depart on a train back to Lichfield - I had just arrived on it from there.
