A 2-car C304 (53130 + 53088) stabled overnight at Treherbert, 28/02/84 (or late '80s?). This was during the time of various reviews and saw the Rhymney line worked by a bubble car in the off peak between Rhymney and Bargoed and the Sunday Merthyr service was also bubble car worked with the vehicle working the 04xxish ex-Treherbert Monday to Saturday. PJ Evans.

A Derby suburban triple DMU is seen to the north of Pontypool Crane Street station. Motor second W50131 is closest, displaying "Newport" on the destination blind - this is likely a Blaenavon to Newport service. The Blaenavon line would close to passengers that year and the set would be transferred to Laira by June. Michael Mensing.
Set C305 (53131 + 59039 + 53089) waits at Bargoed with a train for Penarth, circa 1983. Mac Winfield.
Class 116 DMU set C305 (presumably 53131 + 59039 + 53089) at Cardiff Bute Road station in 1986, before much of the development which has transformed the Cardiff Bay area over the last 20 years. On the left can be seen the former station building, which also served as the headquarters of the Taff Vale Railway before 1923. In 1986 it had recently been renovated and was in use as a museum (including an excellent model of the station in the late 19th century). Tom Burnham.

The Looe branch train at Liskeard on 2nd January 1975, formed of Derby set P322 (possibly 50132 closest?). The dmu is standing in the Looe platform that is located on the north side of the station at right-angles to the GWR main line beyond. Just noticed the brake van in the siding on the far left. The line runs north for a short distance before swinging sharply to the east & passing beneath the main line continuing round to head north again to Coombe Junction & reversal down to Looe. Pete LG99.

On Sunday 9 September 1990 I spent a few hours around the station area at Lichfield City as inter-regional trains were diverted from the main Derby line where an engineering possession was in place. Here is Tyseley's class 116 T328 (presumably formed 53132 + 59670 + 53073) after it had shunted from the station for reversal; the ground signal, which can be seen in front of the unit, had just been pulled off after the points were set to allow movement into the platform for Birmingham and Redditch-bound services. Peter Tandy.
Class 116 DMS 53132 from set T322 with the 15.38 to Leamington Spa in Stratford-upon-Avon station on 22 December 1990. Note the damage to the cab corner (and the 'Ouch' written on it. Dave Warby.
