After a warm drink in the signalbox at Stratford-upon-Avon on 26 October 1985 I went out into the cold and took this shot of the contrasting front coaches of class 116 coach M53818 and class 108's M52058 in platforms 2 and the Cold Store Siding respectively. The training tower of the nearby fire station is still extant in 2021 albeit updated to have some uPVC window frames installed to bring this up to date. Peter Tandy.

BR (Derby) Class 130 Motor Parcels 3-car dmu No.L340 consisting of conversions from a Class 116/1 Motor Second and a Class 116/2 Motor Brake Second (closest, presumably W50819) from a 3-car suburban set with, marshalled in between, an ex-loco-hauled GUV parcels van with multiple unit fittings. The set is in Rail Blue with all yellow front ends and "Parcels Service" branding. It is seen departing Paddington, 12/75. Hugh Llewelyn.

W53820 of C307 displays its white roof dome and red buffer beam, a-la Buxton style. This was CFs only white dome unit and later became one of only two 116s to gain NSE livery the other being W53083 which is the other DMBS in this set at Cardiff Central circa 1987. Mac Winfield.
