With the station in the process of being demolished, Bristol allocated Class 117 no B429 (presumably 51367 + 59519 + 51409) arrives at Shiplake with the 11.53 Twyford - Henley working on 9th September 1985. Robert28194.

With the GWR 150 celebrations of 1985 in mind 1st generation DMU No.s W51368, W59520 and W51410 emerge from Bristol Bath Road in GWR Chocolate & Cream livery, on the 30th June 1985. Sadly BR, in their infinite wisdom, announced the closure of Swindon Works within the same year and completely marred any festivities including the planned works open day. Paul Bettany.
