A Swindon Cross-Country set (power cars are 51794 and 51782) approaches Taynuilt with an Oban bound excursion on 17/05/60. A portion had been detached at Crianlarich for Fort William, the passengers would travel by steamers between the two locations to do a circular tour. Michael Mensing.

I have this dated as 22 March 1960 however the vehicle was new to Kittybrewster in 20 February 1960. This looks from the rear end towards the cab. The first batch had a grey form of stripes on the side and ceiling panels, this second batch had a dotted pattern. British Railways.
A Class 120/101 hybrid set with a refurbished Met-Camm departs Fairlie High station en route to Largs circa 1981. It's an ex-Inverness DMS, of which two were at Ayr at the time. It is probably 51794 rather than '89, as it was noted working with 59680 + 51470 in February 1981. Andrew McConnell.
Class 120 Swindon Cross-Country DMS 51794 sits condemned in Haymarket depot on the 8th February 1987. Many windows are smashed or missing. Originally a ScR vehicle, it had moved to the LMR in 1981. Still carrying an M prefix, it had moved back to the ScR in April 1986 and withdrawn just weeks later in June 1986. Hamish Stevenson.
Withdrawn Class 120 vehicles, 51794 closest, seen at Dundee circa summer 1987. The rake also contained Class 101s and was being hauled by a Class 47, possibly en-route to Aberdeen Ferryhill for component recovery. Brian Ward.

This shows the ends of centre car W59278 and a DMBC, presumably long term partner W50723. The paint date on the underframe is 17/12/75. The exhausts have a grille over them to prevent anyone touching them, in particular anyone climbing up the steps from track level to reset the 'butterfly' or to split the gangways. British Rail.
A Class 120 DMU in Narborough station in late summer 1974. Both visible vehicles have coach letters in the windows (M59280 being B) suggesting that reserved seats were available on this or a previous service the set had worked. Michael Mensing.
