From 1977 the previously-Western Region Inter-City units were moved to Hull and sets were mixed with the mechanically similar Class 124 Trans-Pennine units. This 4-car set has a class 123 car leading as it waits at Hull (Paragon) to form the 15.05 to Doncaster on September 23, 1978. Presume 52102 closest. Jeremy Chapter.
Back in the days of decent trains and station staff, a diagram took these wonderful Trans-Pennine units from Hull to Beverley and back meaning I got to travel to and from work in style. Set 714 at Doncaster on 3/12/78. E52102 has lost the gangway cover, and the inner door has been made unopenable. The obsolete headcode box has effectively turned into marker lights. A 114 can be seen on the left and Met-Camm on the right. Malcolm Clements.
