This is noted on the negative sleeve as Water Orton in 1962, and 1M78 is likely a Cardiff - Derby service. The four-car Swindon Inter-City DMU has a three-car on the rear, possibly a Cross-Country set. Stuart Mackay Collection.

The 10.00 Cardiff (General) - Sheffield (Midland) is seen between Lifford & Kings Heath, Birmingham, on Sunday March 22, 1964. Formed of two Swindon Inter-City sets, the train was diverted due to engineering work between New Street and Selly Oak. Michael Mensing.
