With the leafless trees casting shadows in the spring sunshine, one of Stratford's batch of Class 105 "Cravens" DMU's E54114 + E53361 rolls into Canonbury Station whilst forming the 1120 Gospel Oak - North Woolwich service on 12 April 1985. Nigel Mack.
With the 'Bobby' quick on the ball the peg has already been replaced as Norwich based 3-Car Class 101 Met-Cam DMU set E53267 + E59095 + E53266 runs past the signal box at Leicester North to enter the platforms at Leicester station whilst forming the 0852 Cambridge - Birmingham New Street service on 12 November 1985. Notice the RETB aerial mounted above the secondman's windscreen. This was fitted for working the East Suffolk Line from Ipswich - Lowestoft in the mid 1980's. Nigel Mack.
Taken during the days when you could look out of the front (or rear!) of first generation DMUs this view of the rather imposing station at Bishop Auckland (though it looks to have seen better days) was taken from E50166, which had formed the 13-03 from Shildon on August 21st 1976. There had been an Open Day at the Wagon Works at Shildon that day. emdjt42.

The 25th of September 1963 and major rebuilding is going on at Leeds City South station, the trains are still running amidst the work and demolition. In view we have a Trans Pennine Class 124 DMU, the headcode blinds have been reversed - 47M1 rather than 1M74?, and the preserved K4 3442 The Great Marquess running light with it's bell attached.
