Scrapper. BREL Glasgow Works and Class 120 DMBF Sc51784. The vehicle is in all blue, the passenger door has a '1' for First Class and the yellow cantrail stripe has faded. Oval buffers at this end but 'cut' buffers at the cab end. It seems that the engines and most of the underframe equipment has been removed. This seems to be one of the ScR vehicles with the extended brake van, converted from a DMBC - see elsewhere on Railcar. The building with the roller shutter may have been for asbestos removal and perhaps the vehicle is awaiting stripping prior to scrapping? Photo circa Spring 1986. alicia hartman.

Ayr Variety. BRCW Class 104 triple at Glasgow Central High Level Platfrom 11, having arrived on a working from Ayr. This is probably DMBS M53452 (104 450) + TBS E59225 + DMBS M53461 (104 452) seen previously at Ayr Kyle Street. Two Class 86 Electric Locomotives are stabled at the stops in the adjacent Platform 10 - not an unusual occurrence in this part of the station at that time. Tuesday 24 January 1984. alicia hartman.
Ayr Variety. BRCW Class 104 triple at Glasgow Central High Level Platfrom 11, having arrived on a working from Ayr. This is probably DMBS M53452 (104 450) + TBS E59225 + DMBS M53461 (104 452) seen previously at Ayr Kyle Street. Ayr Variety. Platform 11 at Glasgow Central High Level with motley six car DMU departing for the Ayrshire coast. An old note book suggests the leading BRCW Triple is M53473 DMBSL (White Stripe) + Sc59789 (107 TSL) + M53525 DMCL (White Stripe and yellow First Class cantrail stripe) as seen at Central on 19/01/1984. The rear lash up is probably MC DMB E53207 + BRCW DMC M53510 + MC DMS E54088, previously seen at Ayr. Three manufacturers / vehicle types, all blue, blue with white stripe, blue - grey ... and 'first class'. Variety, indeed! The leading triple includes two ex Blackpool white stripe Class 104 Driving Cars sandwiching a Class 107 Trailer. Rear triple is probably MC DMB E53207 + BRCW DMC M53510 + MC DMS E54088. The 1.25pm Birmingham New Street - Rugby Midland is seen East of Humber Road Junction, Coventry, where masts have been fitted in preparation for electrification. The train on 9 November 1963 is formed of a GRC&W twin and a Met-Camm triple, freshly painted M56103 leads. Michael Mensing.

Derby suburban triple set 304 seen at Widney Manor with a Leamington service in early August 1964. DMBS 50059 leads, presumably with 59004 + 50104. The set would become TY504 and then TS504, retaining the same vehicles until 1983 when Class 127 TSL 59610 replaced 59004 as a means of reducing the number of vehicles containing asbestos.
